Our Patriot’s Journey

cookiestarbar

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wheat,

I’m sorry for not writing you much sooner about your son.  We at the Cadet Chapel are truly sorry for your loss.  I found his card in one of the pew bibles in the Protestant Chapel.  We have placed it in the Chapel Guide’s office where we can remember Robert and his sacrifice.  I look at his picture daily and pray for comfort for you and his family.  He was a handsome man and I’m sure not a day goes by that you don’t have tears in your eyes; I lost my own daughter nearly five years ago, so I truly do understand the hurt you feel.

God is in control of every aspect of all our lives and everything that happens, so this was not a random thing, but God actually called Robert to be with Him.  You could say that Robert won the race.

With sincere best regards,

Mark A. Firks, GS-04, Chapel Guide
