Our Patriot’s Journey

cookiestarbar

Hello Brian and Mary,

I hope this message finds you well. I found a picture of your son, Robert, while I was in New York at the 9/11 Memorial. I've held on to it since then because I couldn't think of a really special place to put it. Today, St. Louis had the first welcome home parade for Iraq war vets. (Here's a link to a video and an article about the days events.) I couldn't think of a more special time to place your son's picture than today, so I placed it at the base of the Arch where many of the families and Vets were walking around after the parade. I hope that someone finds his picture and carries it on to another special location.

Your son was very brave serving in the Army and I'm so sorry to hear about him. My little brother just finished his active duty in the Navy and I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to him. I wish you all the best and much love from St. Louis. I'd love to hear where else this picture travels!

Best,

KM
