Our Patriot’s Journey

October 21, 2009 --

We found his memorial card as we walked along the shore line at Lake Yellowstone in Wyoming back in mid- September.  We held Robert's memory in our thoughts in the  intervening month since we discovered the card.  The day we found it  was a beautiful early fall day.  The sky was filled with puffy clouds  and the breeze was light.  We took the card, planning to find a place  as beautiful as where we found it so we could leave it for someone  else to carry to another beautiful location.  We are in our late 60's  and do not get around as much as we used to do.  However, yesterday  we ventured into the mountains west of Colorado Springs.  We entered  the Pikes Peak Heritage Center which looks down upon the little town of Cripple Creek and which also has a commanding view of the Sangre de Christo Mountains, which are spectacular from this overlook.  This time of year they have the first dusting of snow on their summits and  the view is breathtaking.  May God bless you in your time of grief  and may He also look after Robert and his comrades forever.
