Our Patriot’s Journey

October 12, 2009 --

We went to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons for the first time ever last September and on a drive up to Signal Mountain summit, we found your son’s picture.  What a beautiful site from there!  So I tucked it away in my pocket and took it tome to Oregon with us.  The other day I was thinking about my bucket list and one of them was to take the trail up to the top of Multonomah Falls in the Colombia River Gorge National Scenic Park.  I decided what better time to place your son’s photo.  I took his picture with me to the top, but there was not a good place to leave it.  When I got to the bottom, I placed it in a signboard at the entrance.  Robert helped me to do something I’ve wanted to do for many years and I thank you for that.

I found the picture of your son at Multonomah Falls east of Portland Oregon. Many thanks to your son for serving our Country, and my sincerest sympathy for your loss. Your way of honoring him by asking others to take the photo to their special place made me smile. I immediately tucked it into my pocket and knew exactly where I wanted to leave it. I grew up in a small town, Chico, in Northern California. I studied art and spent a lot of time in Ayers Hall. I placed the photo on a display case in the hallway.
